Well hello there,
Thanks for taking the time to look over my work and congratulations on your engagement.
I know wedding planning isn’t always super-duper fun so I’ve tried to keep my site as simple as possible and I’ll get right to the point.
I love shooting weddings.
They’re great. I’ll get all misty-eyed with your dad. That old softy.
Here’s why.
I’ve been a news photographer for twenty years. I’ve been on the front page of the Sunday New York Times. Above the fold. I’ve done assignments for the largest circulation paper here in the US as well as the big ones in UK and Japan. I even have a contract with NPR. A photographer for the radio... What a world.
It absolutely rules.
I climbed a glacier in Patagonia and then had llama for dinner. It’s kinda like lamb.
I drank more champagne than it would be professional to mention in Dubai’s tallest building in the world. The elevator pressurizes and your ears pop like an airplane before it shoots you up. Fast.
I’ve photographed Clinton, W and Obama twice. I shook The Rock’s massive canoe paddle of a hand. He told me to call him D.J.
Carley Simon made me strawberry shortcake and said James Taylor was still the love of her life. Her boyfriend was there. It was awkward.
But hold up Ryan, what does any of this have to do with wedding photography?
I guess what I’m getting at is…
There is nothing a wedding is going to throw at me that I’m not ready for.
A lot of people I meet on newspaper assignments are having a crummy day and I much prefer their good days- like your wedding. The best day. I’d be honored to be part of it.
Making a sincere human connection through photos is my life's pursuit. It’s a record of your personal history for sure, and I get that. I cover my bases. The first kiss. The first dance. Cutting the cake… but I’m here to do more than that.
I ‘m not just there to provide the historic record of the event. I want to look at these things someday down the road and feel what it was like to be there on that day.
So drop me an email and let’s figure out a good time to meet up for a coffee (or a pint). I want to hear all about this wedding you’re planning.
It’s going to be great.
